Burghley officially begins tomorrow with the first horse inspection, and all of the U.S. riders slated to compete have safely arrived on the grounds. I have to say, Burghley is definitely one of the most picturesque venues I’ve ever seen, and I can’t say I’m not envious of the riders who have spent the day hacking out and taking in the sights.

As we speak, Kate is in the air and will be hitting the ground running tomorrow with the best coverage EN has to offer. Stay tuned for much more from across the pond!

I can’t even imagine how it must feel to hack around the massive Burghley grounds. I would get goosebumps as soon as I saw this:

It seems to have been a busy day of getting settled in and preparing for the first horse inspection:

It looks like Mark Todd has chosen to withdraw Oloa from competition this weekend; it will definitely be a strange weekend without seeing Toddy hustling around cross country!

Can you say “picture perfect”?

The weather looks to be gorgeous, and if we look ahead to the forecast for the next few days the chances for a giant mud pit happening look quite slim. Let’s hope the forecast stays this lovely!

Screenshot_15Best of luck to all competitors as they trot up for the first time tomorrow. Keep it locked here for much more from Burghley!
