We reported yesterday that Andrew Nicholson suffered a hard fall on his first ride, Cillnabradden Evo, in the Open CIC3* Championships at Gatcombe, and he subsequently withdrew his second ride, Perfect Stranger. Today, Horse & Hound is reporting that Andrew has been hospitalized with a neck injury.

According to Horse & Hound, Andrew is receiving treatment at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for his injuries. Andrew and Cillnabradden Evo fell at the last fence, and medical staff were attending to him immediately. The horse was uninjured in the fall.

We’ll continue to seek more updates on Andrew’s condition, but in the meantime please join us in wishing him a speedy recovery and check out the full Horse & Hound article here.
