Why yes, I did use a photo of myself for the lead photo because my pony looks bada** and I look super intense without making a snarling face. This, I assure you, is unusual. Jenni kindly refers to it as my “squintface” but it has also been referred to as “partial stroke face” and other less flattering things. I can’t control it, and I don’t know why, but when I am jumping I seem to have issues with my ability to breath normally. Specifically, I tend to breathe out of one side of my mouth only, which gives the impression that I am heavily squinting and/or recently suffered from a stroke. Hence, I usually try to focus on how cool my horse looks and mentally block out my own head.
