Whether it’s Thoroughbred adoption sites, Sport Horse Nation or Facebook groups, we all find ourselves perusing horses for sale and doing a little wishful thinking, even when we aren’t in the market for another mouth to feed.
The 2015 Goresbridge Go for Gold sale catalogue was made available online today and this is the ultimate window shopping opportunity. There are 61 young horses listed this year, including Shannondale Tyrion (Lot 41), a full brother to Ryan Wood’s Woodstock Bennett.
Now in it’s sixth year, the Go for Gold auction was the first of its kind in Ireland and now attracts buyers from all over the world due to the quality of the horses presented, which are selected for their pedigree, performance and potential.
Several notable Go for Gold graduates have succeeded in eventing in the U.S., including Carl and Cassie Segal and Sherri Martin’s Copper Beech, and many of the horses at the sale each year have already had illustrious careers in young horse classes around Europe.
So mark your calendar for the dates of the sale November 9-11, make a list of your favorites and start saving your pennies. Me? I’m pining for Lot 18, Willow’s Peeping Pocket.
