Friday News and Notes: Now Brought to You in Sentence Form

Dressage tests: there's an app for that.

In New Zealand, if your horse escapes onto a highway and a car hits it, you are liable.

$30,000US is up for grabs at the Ocala CCI**, which is what Kobe makes in about 6 minutes.

A new European Equestrian Federation was just formed, no word yet on whether Turkey is allowed in or whether England will covert its currency.

Will Faudree won a blue ribbon at a dog show, which is the same number of blue ribbons he has won in eventing the last 10 months.

Some moron has started a petition to end equestrian sports. Thanks to The Carrot for finding this one.

On Thursday, a circus Zebra escaped and ran onto an Atlanta freeway, leading police on a 40 minute chase: "all of a sudden a freaking Zebra comes running down the street like a car."

You are also liable if your horse gets out in the road in the U.S. and causes a car accident!

John, the comment on will was moderately humerous, but sadly it was woefully wrong :(
A quick glance at your link shows that he won 2 at the fork alone last year. Don't mean to beat a dead piglet, but I think the new absurd tagline has brought your jounalistic integrity down.

Another day in Atlanta, another new, facsinating way to screw up rush hour traffic. I was shocked when I heard it on the traffic report yesterday afternoon, but so glad the little guy is ok!

will just won an intermediate @ rocking horse on pawlow.

>>PlayerHater: Will did indeed win two training level events at the Fork in April of 2009 to go with his one prelim victory recently at Full Gallop, which was the only one that our statistician (who has since been fired) saw this morning. Thus, we have a total of 3 victories over the last 12 months, and 1 victory in the last 10 months. The entry has been amended to reflect these results, and again, our statistician has been fired. Thanks for the great catch.

>>Anonymous: As of Friday night, Will is leading at Rocking Horse intermediate after the dressage and show jumping. With an excellent 3* horse, Will has to be a favorite going into the XC, but I'd hate to jinx anything by counting the chickens before they are hatched, and these scores obviously came in hours after the original post.

My goal, as always, was to make a lighthearted but purposeful point without delving too much into the negative, and it was certainly a mistake on my part to be off by 2 months. While I place the highest priority on accuracy, in this case, I feel that my point might be getting lost in the minutiae. Comments like these encourage me to fully expand upon my point.
