A View From My Horse: Thanksgiving Edition

As most of us were either making fattening food for Thanksgiving, or eating the fattening food at Thanksgiving, one of our loyal readers was using the holiday break to refine her dressage skills. You go, Katie!

Happy Thanksgiving.

And remember, if you’d like to submit your “ears” photo, send it along with a caption describing it to: [email protected]

Howdy!  That’s how we supposedly say “hello” in Texas.  I am a big fan of Eventing Nation and the “Ears” submissions.  I am sending you my own “ears” taken Wednesday, Thanksgiving Eve.  I am a dressage rider and this is my horse, aptly named ‘Red’. We are located just east of Dallas, TX. We decided to take advantage of the windy, muggy 72 degree weather that just screams “happy holidays” and go for a pre-Thanksgiving ride out in the field.  Red and I want to be eventers when we grow up.  He’s in his element when we are riding out and today was no different.  We love walking out towards the pond and checking out the herons, the kingfisher and the odd mallard that make stopovers here. Right after I took this picture, we galloped around for 10 minutes before Red grumpily agreed to go into the ‘sandbox’.  Happy Thanksgiving, EN!
Go Eventing (and Dressage!)
