Galway is almost upon us, and we’re thrilled to be heading out to California to cover the event alongside PRO TV. It will definitely be a great way to wrap up the bulk of the season, and we can’t wait to get on the ground and get started!

We’re getting the feeling that our sentiments are echoed by those who are competing this weekend. Many riders are making the trek to the West coast (or returning to their old stomping grounds) this weekend, which means plenty of long-distance travel was involved.

Ellen Doughty and Sir Oberon will be contesting the CCI3* this weekend, which required a lengthy haul from Ellen’s base in Texas. We’re positive that the trip will be worth the trip, Ellen!

The weather is looking promising for the weekend, as we’ve come to expect from sunny California.

Other heavy hitters will be on hand, even if they don’t have horses in the three-star.

Karen O’Connor is also making the trip west…

Meanwhile, even though some didn’t have quite as far of a distance to cover, they still arrived with relief that the trip had gone without incident. Jordan Linstedt has had more than her fair share of trailering issues this year, so we’re happy to report that she arrived safely at Galway with no incidents to report!

Meanwhile, we’re all counting down the days until the event officially begins. You can find a schedule of events and much more on the Galway Downs Facebook page. In the meantime, keep your eyes on EN for the latest and greatest coming from California!
