The eventing community rallied around Waitangi Notebook, a talented mare in Lynn Symansky’s barn who suffered a devastating pasture accident in January of this year. The 7-year-old New Zealand Sport Horse mare’s injury was significant, and Lynn worried that she’d said good-bye to the gray mare for the last time.

Today, however, Lynn announced on Facebook that “Mouse” is officially back in full work, thanks to the dedication of many medical professionals who strove to get the mare back to full health:

“It’s been almost a year since Mouse’s terrible pasture accident. Originally best case scenario hopes were that she’d possibly be pasture sound and able to breed. But she continued to beat all odds, and Mouse is now back in full work and getting ready to head to Florida. A huge thank you to Piedmont Equine Practice, Dr. Sarah Dukti and Po Tatham, and Virginia Equine Imaging who get all the credit for saving our little miracle Mouse! ‪#‎cantstopwontstop‬ ‪#‎mightymiraclemouse‬”

We’re thrilled for Lynn and her team, as Mouse is a well-loved member of the team who showed her grit to pull through a tough year. We can’t wait to see more from this pair; Mouse last competed at the Virginia CIC2* in 2013 and had a solid move-up to the Intermediate and two-star level prior to her injury.

We’ll be rooting for Lynn and Mouse as 2015 kicks off in full swing. Go Mouse!
