Is Fair Hill here already? I don’t know about you all, but the fall season has flown by and I can’t believe we’re nearing the end. One of the bittersweet things about the last show of the season is sitting on your horse the final day of the show and knowing you won’t be riding him for a while. I always miss riding while my horse has a vacation, but I come back pumped and itching to be on again, instead of a bit burned out.

Katy Groesbeck is headed to Fair Hill with her 3* horse, Oz the Tin Man. Before she wraps up the season, she summarizes her feelings about her year. I completely relate when she talks about feeling great about your performance in an event even when the results on paper don’t look very good. In fact, I found myself nodding in agreement as I read through the entire blog. [Keep On Keepin’ On]

Naked calendars, get your naked calendars! The Brits are a cheeky lot, and there’s a number of different equestrian calendars for 2015 in which you can see just how cheeky they are. In the calendars, the riders bare all for a good cause. Why yes, I love puns. Also, possibly NSFW photos (Not Safe For Work for those of you new to the Interwebz.) [Riders Get Naked for Charity]

This week on the Eventing Radio Show: Boekelo and the State of Eventing. This week Clark Montgomery and Liz Halliday-Sharp join Samantha Clark on the show to reflect on Boekelo. Mark Todd and Phillip Dutton join in to discuss the state of eventing as they see it. [Eventing Radio Show]

Former upper level eventer Nadeem Noon needs your support. The eventing community is rallying to support Nadeem during this time with a silent auction of some pretty cool items. Buy something cool and support a good cause! [Nadeem Noon Silent Auction]

SmartPak Product of the Day: My horse doesn’t think much of hitting rails, so I like to jump him bare legged at shows. However, he interferes a bit, so at home I prefer to jump in open fronts. I searched long and hard for a pair of open fronts that had both thin straps to prevent any cushioning of blows, and a matching hind that wrapped around the fetlock joint to prevent twisting of the boot. Literally the only thing I found was the Eskadron Air Flexisoft Open Fronts, so I bit the bullet and purchased them. I’ve been using them for four years now and they have held up incredibly well. In a few days, we will be watching Fair Hill CCI3* run cross country. For comparison’s sake, take a gander at 2010’s CCI3* XC course, courtesy of Buzzterbrown.
