Cross country got underway first thing this morning at the Nutrena American Eventing Championships, and the Training level horses have completed their runs. I went out to check out the course and snap some photos for Who Jumped It Best, and it seems to riding smoothly overall for the junior riders I watched. You can listen live to John Kyle’s commentary here.

The fence pictured is the eighth fence on the Training course, which came after two technical combinations early on in course. Riders came off of a bending line on a slightly downhill approach to this fence. After setting up for the previous combinations, this was a good galloping fence to get the pairs back into their rhythm.

Preliminary is underway now, followed by the Merial Intermediate and the Adequan USEA Gold Cup Advanced, so we’ll have much more coming your way from Texas! In the meantime, check out this gallery of a handful of the junior riders and vote for who you think jumped it best in the poll below. The winner gets infinite chinchilla karma and plenty of cool points to last for the weekend.
