Good morning from a soggy Plantation Field! We’re ready to watch the CIC3* riders face off over Mike Etherington-Smith’s cross country course this morning. Keep checking this space for all the latest!

10:25 a.m. Ride times have been updated this morning. Start time at 10:30 a.m. with no lunch break. Find times here.

10:31 a.m. And we’re off! Buck Davidson and Erroll Gobey set off across a soggy course.

10:32 a.m. Erroll Gobey through the foundation and the first water complex. Buck is taking his time out there.

10:40 a.m. Please excuse our technical difficulties! Erroll Gobey has completed the course with no stops; Shanon Baker/Balllingowan Zeal, Allison Spring/Business Ben, and Cary Chavis/Game On on course. Cary Chavis has a stop at the in to the foundation.

10:42 a.m. Tracey Bienemann and Geoni are out on course.

10:44 a.m. Geoni is clear through the foundation.

10:45 a.m. Geoni is clear through the direct route in the first water. Waylon Roberts and Lancaster now on course.

10:46 a.m. The announcer says Cary Chavis has had another stop at the coffin. Lancaster has an awkward jump over B at the first combination and slides to a stop at C.

10:48 a.m. Geoni clear over the corner out of the coffin. Lancaster leaves a stride out through the direct route in the water.

10:50 a.m. Kaitlin Clasing and Cartender de Nyze out on course. Clear over the first fence. The rain is coming down steadily but not heavily. Geoni clear over the wood pile and the open oxer. Cartender de Nyze jumps well over the table at 5, then fairly smoothly through the angled tables at 6. Geoni is clear over the last.

10:52 a.m. Cartender de Nyze gets an awkward jump over the in to the foundation complex and takes a flag. Could be a candidate for a missed flag penalty. The horse is then clear through the water. Galloway Sunrise and Fylicia Barr have left the start box. Clear over the first. Lancaster jumps well over the wood pile and open oxer.

10:54 a.m. Galloway Sunrise leaves a stride out before the B in the angled tables but sees C easily and jumps no problem. Lancaster clear over the final fence. Galloway Sunrise beautifully through the ruins. Galloway Sunrise makes the direct route through the water look easy.

10:56 a.m. Lindsey Beer and Kennystown Frankie leave the startbox, clear over the first. Gets in deep to the second but clears it easily. Jumps well over the table at 4 but doesn’t quite get his eye on the C element of the angled tables and slides to a stop.

10:58 a.m. Cartender dy Nyze clear over the last and home. Kennystown Frankie has a circle in the ruins to regain control. Meghan O’Donoghue and Palm Crescent are headed out on course.

11:00 a.m. Palm Crescent neatly through the angled Hunt Kennels at 5, then speedily through the Cottages at the ruins. Beautifully through the direct route in the first water.

11:02 a.m. Scores are beginning to populate on Event Entries, so stay posted there for time penalties. Daniel Clasing and MW Gangster’s Game start out on course and are over the first two. Palm Crescent jumps the shelter and oxer clear on the back of the course.

11:04 a.m. Palm Crescent gets a beautiful open stride at the corners, jumps the Weldon off the gallop, then lovely through the coffin. Clear through the second water. Wild Orange and Grace Fulton have left the startbox. Wild Orange clear over the first two fences.

11:06 a.m. Palm Crescent clear over the wood pile and log oxer. They are clear over the last now. Wild Orange has a beautiful ride through the ruins. Wild Orange clear through the first water. Allie Sacksen and Sparrow’s Nio leave the box and are clear over the first.

11:08 a.m. We haven’t seen much of MW Gangster’s Game but he is clear over the last and headed home. Sparrow’s Nio easily through the ruins.

11:10 a.m. Sparrow’s Nio clear through the direct route at the first water. Confidence Game heads out on the course with Colleen Rutledge. Clear over the first two. Wild Orange puts in a big effort over both the wood pile and the log oxer.

11:12 a.m. Confidence Game needs some direction through the angled tables but Colleen helps him get through cleanly. Wild Orange over the last and headed home. Confidence Game hesitates but jumps big on the out of the foundation. Does the same thing at the brush wedge of the direct route in the first water.

11:14 a.m. Hallie Coon and Lansdownne head out of the box and are clear over the first two. They hit a lovely open stride at 4 then a beautiful line through the turning table combination at 5.

11:16 a.m. Lansdownne gets a forward ride to be clear through the ruins. Hallie takes him nicely through the alternate route in the first water. Polaris and Sara Gumbiner leave the box, jumps well over the first two.

11:18 a.m.  Lansdownne gets a nice open stride through the angled one-stride brushes on the far end of the course. Confidence Game is flying to the last two fences and through the finish. Lansdownne takes the option at the brush corner, slips on the turn but jumps each corner well. Beautifully through the coffin.  Emily Hamel and Corvett leave the start.

11:20 a.m. Corvett pings up and over the first two fences. And the third and fourth fences. And the three angled tables at 5.

11:22 a.m. Corvett navigates through the ruins. Corvett refuses to touch the brush over the wedge in the water, jumping cleanly through the direct route.  Clear over the brush oxer but has a last second refusal at the suspended log at 10. Clean over on second presentation. Cooley Cruise Control and Lindsey Kelley now on course.

11:24 a.m. Corvett still refusing to jump over brush but gets through the angled brushes and the shelter on the far side of the course with no stops. Corvett appears to be jumping higher and higher over the fences as the course goes on. Cooley Cruise Control goes confidently through the ruins and the direct route at the first water.

11:26 a.m. Cornelia Dorr and Sir Patico MH have started the course and jump well over the first two fences. Cooley Cruise Control has a super go through the angled brushes and over the shelter and open oxer on the far side of the course.

11:28 a.m. Corvett galloping towards the end, jumps over the brush at the final fence and through the finish. Cooley Cruise Control cleanly through the brush corners. Sir Patico MH goes through the foundation well but then is a bit under-powered for the direct through in the water and has a run-out at the wedge. Kinard Battina and Erin Risso head out on course, clear over the first.

11:30 a.m. Sir Patico MH gets a great stride into the angled one-stride brushes and jumps well over that and the shelter and the open oxer. Kinard Battina clean through the ruins, then clean through the alternate route at the first water. Cooley O and Jules Ennis are on course and clear over the first two.

11:32 a.m. Cooley O clear through the table at 4, gets a huge open stride to the A at the turning tables. Jules is jostled, tries to steer to B but the stride doesn’t work and Cooley O comes to a stop. Jules, already dislodged, comes off Cooley O’s shoulder. Rider is sitting up.

11:34 a.m. The rain is really starting to come down now. Kinard Battina gives a big jump over the woodpile, goes well over the log oxer.

11:36 a.m. Kinard Battina clear over the fence in the woods and climbs the hill towards the finish. She finishes up over the final fence and heads through the finish flags. Paddy the Caddy and Erin Sylvester have also been on course and are clear through the ruins and through the direct route at the water.

11:38 a.m. Karl Slezak and Fernhill Wishes head out on course. Clear over the first two. Paddy the Caddy on the back side of the course, Fernhill Wishes clear over table at 4. A bit underpowered through A and B but Karl rides him forward to C for a clear through the turning tables.

11:40 a.m. Fernhill Wishes rides well through the ruins and clear through the direct route at the water. Paddy the Caddy clear over the table at 18, then through the direct route at the second water. Caitlin Henderson and Creative Dreamer leave the start and are clear over the first two.

11:42 a.m. Paddy the Caddy clear over the wood pile and the open oxer. They run up the hill to the final fence and complete. Creative Dreamer gets a bold ride through the ruins, clean through the direct route in the first water.

11:44 a.m. Karl Slezak clear over the table at 18 and headed to the first water. Chris Talley and Sandro’s Star headed out on course and clear over the first. Fernhill Wishes clear over the wood pile but stalls out at the log oxer. He jumps anyway and lands on the back rail with his hind end and breaks the frangible but both stay up and continue on.

11:46 a.m. Sandro’s Star twists his hind end over the A at the turning tables and almost dislodges Chris, who loses a stirrup. Chris gives him a gritty ride to finish to combination, then goes clear at the ruins and direct route of the first water. Creative Dreamer appears to be walking home. The rain is pouring down. Sandro’s Star gets a gritty clear at the angled brushes on the far side of the course.

11:48 a.m. Creative Dreamer may have just been held; the start box is held as well. Sandro’s Star is clear through the corner brushes but twists his hind quarters awkwardly over the second. Sandro’s Star is now held too…they are repairing the frangible log oxer.

11:50 a.m. We are back up and running, Creative Dreamer is clear over the log oxer and the fence into the woods.

11:52 a.m. Creative Dreamer over the last and home. Sandro’s Star over the big table at 18 before the second water. Sandro’s Star over the trakehner. Matt Flynn and Wizzerd out on course and clear over the first.

11:54 a.m. Wizzerd clears the second and third. Sandro’s Star through the finish. Wizzerd jumps neatly through the turning tables. Clear through the ruins.

11:56 a.m. Wizzerd clear through the direct route at the first water and through the hanging log at fence 10. Clear through the angled brushes.

11:58 a.m. Wizzerd clear on the backside of the course. Bolytair B and Dom Schramm are clear over the first two. Wizzerd gets a good shot through the brush corners. Bolytair B gets a forward ride through the angled tables.

12:00 p.m. Bolytair B gets another forward ride through the ruins. Clean through the direct route at the first water. Archie Rocks heads out under Buck Davidson, clear over the first two.

12:02 p.m. Archie Rocks kicks his feet up over the third fence, easily over the fourth. Buck asks him to add a stride in each line in the turning tables and it works well. Archie Rocks clear through the ruins, slips just before jumping the A of the first water but jumps well anyways through the direct route.

12:04 p.m. Olney Uncle Sam and Emily Beshear out on course. Clear over the first two. Bolytair B are clear over the last.

12:06 p.m. Olney Uncle Sam clear through the ruins but drive-by the brush wedge in the B of the water. Successfully jumps the alternate. Shelby Brost and Crimson are out on course and clear over the first. Archie Rocks clear into the woods and up to the last.

12:08 p.m. Archie Rocks clear over the last. Crimson is a bit underpowered to the A of the turning tables, manages the B element but crawls to a stop at C. Crimson jumps on re-presentation but twists hard and has an awkward landing before continuing on. Looks hesitant at the in of the ruins but gets a strong ride to jump out well. Crimson clear through the direct route at the first water with an awkward jump over the brush wedge.

12:10 p.m. Lord Willing and Allison Springer out on course, clear over the first two. Lord Willing hesitates, adds, and hangs a leg at the narrow table at 3, falling into turf on the backside. Both horse and rider are up and fine; it was not a rotational fall.

12:12 p.m. Crimson has a very awkward jump at the A of the brush corners, forcing Shelby to circle before jumping the B element well. Crimson jumps the wide table at 18 but canters to a stop at the in to the second water. Shelby has raised her hand and retired.

12:14 p.m. We’ve been informed that the course is on hold; Emily Beshear and Olney Uncle Sam have fallen; it is unclear whether or not the horse fell or just the rider fell but we have gotten verbal confirmation that both horse and rider are on their feet.

12:16 p.m. Dutch Times and Arielle Aharoni head out on course. Clear over the first two.

12:18 p.m. Dutch Times clear through the turning tables. Gets a great ride through the ruins. A little deep to the in at the first water but gets it done and is clear through the direct route.

12:20 p.m. Kylie Lyman and Cooley Ice head out, clear over first three. Dutch Times clear over the angled one-stride brushes. Cooley Ice pops his left shoulder over the B at the turning tables but Kylie grits her teeth and gets him clear through C.

12:22 p.m. Cooley Ice clear through the ruins. Clayton Fredericks and FE Ophelia clear over the first. Dutch Times has a runout at the B element of the double brush corners, takes the alternate B with success. FE Ophelia clear over 3, then jumps well through the turning tables. Stumbles on landing but catches herself.

12:24 p.m. FE Ophelia easily through the ruins. Kylie Lyman has retired Cooley Ice. FE Ophelia clear through the direct route. Ariel Grald and Leamore Master Plan clear over the first fence. Dutch Times over the last and home.

12:26 p.m. FE Ophelia clear through brush one-stride, Leamore Master Plan clear through 3 and 4. Leamore Master Plan smoothly through the turning tables. Beautifully through the ruins now, then clear through the direct route in the first water.

12:28 p.m. Caroline Martin leaves the start with Danger Mouse. Clear over the first but Danger Mouse hangs a leg and falls, sending Caroline onto the ground as well. The horse is up right away. FE Ophelia clear over the last.

12:30 p.m. Leamore Master Plan clear through the second water combination. Also clear at the woodpile and the log oxer, headed to the last. Mara dePuy and Congo Brazzaville C out on course.

12:32 p.m. Congo Brazzaville C clear over the third table. Beautifully done through the turning tables.

12:34 p.m. Congo Brazzaville C peaks at the landing on the in to the ruins, then has an awkward jump out but nicely through the direct route in the first water. Will Faudree and Pfun head out on course. Congo Brazzaville C has a text book run through the angled one-stride.

12:36 p.m. Pfun goes well through the ruins then jumps well through the direct route in the water. Pfun clear over the hanging log at 10. Sportsfield Candy and Phillip Dutton are out on course!

12:38 p.m. Sportsfield Candy clear over 3 and easily lopes over 4. Makes the turning tables look like a gymnastic exercise. Neatly through the ruins.

12:40 p.m Sportsfield Candy clear through the direct route at the first water. Pfun is clear through the second water complex. Pfun clear over an open oxer.

12:42 p.m. Sportsfield Candy clear over the far oxer, coming up to the brush corners. Pfun clear at the last. Sportsfield Candy a bit off the brush corners both in and out but gets it done, then an easy run through the coffin. Clear through the second water.

12:44 p.m. Sporstfield Candy looks a little tired over the wood pile, then gives a better jump over the open oxer. Sportsfield Candy is inching up the field and is tired over the last but finishes clear.

12:57 p.m. The scores are final, with all of the riders accumulating time penalties today, Buck Davidson wins for the second year, this time aboard Archie Rocks!
