Doug Payne and Crown Talisman finished sixth in the horse’s international debut at Saumur CCI3*, which Doug said he was very happy with in his final blog from the event. He’s stayed on in France to enjoy a belated honeymoon with Jess, and he finally found strong enough wifi to upload his HD helmet cam complete with analysis for us.
For those curious about Pierre Michelet’s courses, this is a great example of his work. Check out the angled brush combination at fence 5AB, which caused many problems throughout the day. The skinny barrels in the main arena are also classic Pierre, and something similar will likely surface on the WEG course in Normandy.
