Sunday Links from Dubarry

Carrick, left, and Sloopy, #14 and #19 on the USEA High Score Horses List, enjoy their retirement in Southern Pines. Many thanks to Ellen Williams for sending in this great photo!

Eventers from all along the East Coast have started migrating south to Aiken, Ocala and other warmer climates. While in reality this only signifies that the winter weather is about to become even more miserable for those of us unlucky enough to be stuck in northern states, it also means that full-blown eventing season is right around the corner. The season kicked off this weekend with the Ocala Horse Properties Winter I Horse Trials, which wraps up today. For those of you lucky enough to be competing already, remember us poor frozen northerners when you’re out riding in a T-shirt. Spring come quickly.
