In a fitting ending, Gemma Tattersall won the CCI2* at the Irish event that shares her name. Gemma was able to move up from fourth to second after a double clear cross country, and ended the weekend on her dressage score. Overnight leaders Piggy French and Seapatrick Dark Cruise had an unfortunate rail to move down to third overall. William Fox-Pitt and Luxury FH picked up second place after also jumping double clear today.

Riders from Great Britain dominated the CCI2* division, taking home the honors in 12 out of the top 20 finishers. Australia and Ireland round out the remainder of the top 20. The highest place North American rider is US pair Jules Stiller with Cash Advance, who jumped double clear to finish 22nd on the weekend. This is Cash Advance’s CCI2* debut, and Jules has a string of talented horses currently that are looking good for her.

In the CCI2* U-25 division, US rider Jacob Fletcher moved up from 11th to 8th after show jumping to give the US a top 10 finish this weekend. Winners Millie Dumas and The Duke of Cavan led after dressage and never looked back, adding nothing to their dressage score to clinch the win today. Tom McEwan and Emily King round out the top three. Interestingly enough, the 7 out of the top 10 finishers in this division all finished on their dressage score, making this group quite the talented bunch to watch for the future.

I’ve received some photos from the show jumping thus far today and will add those to this post once they are fully downloaded. I’ll also be back later with a CCI3* recap, so stay tuned for more from Ireland. Go Tatts.
