Burghley hosted the European Eventing Championships in 1989, when Great Britain took home team gold and swept the individual medals. Ginny Leng and Master Craftsman were the individual gold medalists, followed by Jane Thelwall and King’s Jester with silver and Lorna Clarke with Fearlieth Mor with bronze. What a year for British eventing!
As always, it’s fascinating to look back on “vintage” cross country footage, and this video definitely qualifies as such. Videos like this are also a great opportunity to see some of the famous faces from the past in their heyday, so keep an eye out for some very recognizable names and faces!
