In between divisions

Today is a long day of waiting, packing and one round that can make or break your spring – no pressure!  The CCI* is done and dusted – Congratulations to Will Coleman and his lovely horse Zipp, who actually came from Carl Bouckaert’s yard originally. The two star riders are assembled at the in-gate, gagging to walk the course, and their horses are either still in the barn, or being led around depending on where they go in the order.

Where would be without the mummies? Selena O’Hanlon’s mum leads her horses down to the ring for her while Selena walks the course.

I had a brief chat with Leslie Law who was delighted with the way Rehy Lux went and pulled up yesterday. He told me that in the back of his mind he’d been thinking if this weekend went really well he might aim him for Pau, and says he sees no reason not to now. As he explained it to me, the horse was very straight and bold, didn’t back off anything and felt great at the finish. With Pau being roughly the same time as Fairhill, he can give him a break, bring him back and do a couple of Horse Trials, and then if he finds he needs to adjust his plan to re-route to Fairhill, it shouldn’t be a problem.
CCI ** show jumping just started so I’m off again, and it’s definitely getting warmer. Go Bromont and go eventing!
