This week’s “ears” photo definitely conjures up visions of summer time. One of our readers, Sarah, sent us a video of her hack through a historic battlefield last August, as well as a photo of a quiet summer day’s ride. Only six more months and the days will be longer, the air will smell sweeter, and all will be right as summer will have returned.

This is a still photo of my ride “around the block” hack, this time on a lovely quiet Sunday morning. The road we’re on has virtually no traffic, at least not of the wheeled variety.
The video is of Keogh (9 yo homebred Appendix gelding) and I going under the
bridge on a solo trail ride at the Chickamauga Battlefield. I love the
echoing noise of his hooves in the water :
