With a clean jumping round from Caitlin Silliman and Catch a Star, there was no room for error for Canada’s Lisa Marie Fergusson, but they jumed a double-clear to take the victory in the CCI2*. I’m not suer what Lisa’s plans are for the rest of the year, but a 2* win over a quality filed here at Jersey is a nice thing to put on a resume for the Pan Ams.
CCI2* Results:
1. Lisa Marie Fergusson and Smart Move +0 52.1
2. Caitlin Silliman and Catch a Star +0 54.7
3. Arden Wildasin and Totally Awesome Bosco +0 55.2
4. Hawley Bennett-Awad and Five O’Clock Somewhere +4 56.6
–Second placed Catch A Star impressed me all weekend. They had an excellent show jumping ride and Caitlin should be really proud of a great weekend.
–Another young rider kicking butt out here in the 2* is Arden Wildasin, who finished the weekend in 3rd place on her dressage score.
–Hawley Bennet and Five O’Clock Somewhere had one rail but jumped well everywhere else and I know Hawley will consider this trip out east a big success for this really nice horse and they definitely look like yet another Pan Am contender for Canada.
–There were 7 double-clears in the CCI2*.
That’s all from the CCI2*, we’ll be back shortly with the CIC2* winner. Go eventing.
