The Ground Jury is excited for a Bromont jog report

Ground jury member Christian Landholt always makes a fashion statement at the jogs

I’m never going to make cold weather jokes about Canada again.  The Bromont sun shined down on the jog strip all afternoon, raising temperatures into the 90’s, Fahrenheit.  There were 7 holds today, 3 horses were spun, and the ground jury requested more than 15 rejogs.  It was hard to see some horses not make it through out the first jog considering the journey most people made to get to Bromont, but in general I though the ground jury made good decisions with the horses they decided to hold.  In terms of who got spun, you never know what went on in the holding area, so it’s hard to tell.

Of the CCI* horses, Menuet and Lambert were held, and Menuet was spun upon representation.  In the CCI2* Irish Dreams, Woodrow III, Smarty Pants, and Roquefort were all held.  Irish Dreams and Woodrow III were not accepted on representation.  Medici was held in the CCI3* but passed on reinspection.

109 horses will go onto the CCI dressage tomorrow, and that doesn’t include the large training level division.

In a very strange moment in the CCI2* jog, Diana Burnett had a long conversation with the ground jury after her jog.  Her horse, Diamond Cut, has significant sarcoids on his right stifle.  Although the horse looked very sound, the ground jury originally wanted to eliminate it because they were concerned about the sarcoids breaking open over a jump on the XC and bleeding.  However, after discussing the issue with Diana, she will ride dressage and then the ground jury will reevaluate the issue.  The horse has done numerous intermediates and 2*’s and Diana told me they have never been a problem on XC.

I apologize in advanced for the photos. As my ex-girlfriends say, ‘it’s not you, it’s me.

It was great to see Phillip out today representing true prospect.  He jogged Model Cadet for stepdaughter Lee Lee Jones along with his 4 other horses.  Abbie Golden is here this weekend with Arundel in the CCI1*.

Clark’s wife Jess always turns him out well.  Clark is one of the favorites in the CCI3* with Loughan Glen.

Go eventing.
