Abbie Golden and Arundel
A lot of the women, and indeed the men, had obviously put some planning into their sunday morning outfits, and looked splendid, but perhaps had not bargained upon the chilly temperatures and mild drizzle.
Shawn Ferguson (it wasn’t really bright enough for sunglasses but…!)
Ian Roberts and Viper
FEI Senior Steward Joe Carr, who treated each competitor as a “customer” with a smile, a kind comment, and depending on who it was, sometimes a joke and a wisecrack too – great value!

Onto the two star jog, and as usual the Dutton team were immaculate which was no surprise, and they looked like the previous day’s antics barely took anything out of them.

Best dressed man? Carl Bouckaert for Belgium
I was proud of all the eventing men today, they looked very dapper indeed; they must all have some stylish women advising them on their wardrobes, I know Buck’s girlfriend Andrea Leatherman always looks terrific, so maybe she’s been nudging him in the right direction? Love the hat today.
Andrea Leatherman and Mystic My, who was held, but then passed on veterinary recommendation due to an old injury.

Lauren Lambert and Baba Creek. Their cross country yesterday (fastest clear of the day) is even more amazing if you put it in the context that she’s only run him around one full horse trial this year – the intermediate at The Fork. She was telling me what a fantastic cross country horse he is and how lucky she feels to get to ride him, and that she has “a plan” for show-jumping. Crossing fingers that he’ll pick up his legs today in the stadium for her.

I miss Leo!
CCI* show jumping is already underway. It’s definitely warming up, and even if it doesn’t I have a lovely cosy Bromont hoody to keep me toasty and happy today – I’m that much of a fan! More coming later, thanks for reading and go eventing!
