Horse Nation reader Trudy Innes Richardson sent in this "Oh Crap Moment" on her OTTB. Be sure to like Horse Nation on Facebook to see more great saves like this one. Well sat, Trudy!
A barn friend told me yesterday that after recently retiring her 24-year-old Quarter Horse gelding, she found herself with an abundance of time on her hands to catch up on the important things in life she’d been missing out on at the barn — like visiting her grandmother, spending quality time with friends and hanging out with her non-horsey husband. The off season is generally a quiet time where the cold temperatures and short days make it difficult to get out to the barn as regularly as we’d like. Instead of going stir crazy in the off season, let’s use it as a time to catch up on what we’ve been neglecting. Now’s the time to do it; because, come spring, we’ll all be living at the barn again.
