Good luck to everyone competing today!
Good Morning Eventing Nation! Well it’s another exciting day for eventing, being Pan Am cross country day and all. The Canadians have the top most individual placing with Jessie Phoenix’s brilliant ride yesterday, but have fallen just a step behind in the team competition. The US had a very solid day yesterday with some very good rides, but medals are rarely ever decided on Friday, so it will take another two days of continued good riding and a little luck to see them through to a gold medal. The cross country begins at 11 am EST and will run to about 4 pm. Stay tuned.
But don’t forget about the other events going on this weekend. It’s a big weekend for the T3D/P3D series with both divisions being held at Midsouth in Kentucky and a big T3D division running at Waredaca this weekend.
You can kill an hour watching this just recently released footage of the 1976 Olympic Eventing Competition, but it’ll be an hour well spent.
As a quick note from Pennfield, the folks at Pennfield, whose usual word is “Promise” now says their word is “Amazing” or perhaps “Humbling”. Amazing because so far, their “What’s YOUR word?” contest has had zero duplicates on the word despite a flood of entries since it began Tuesday. And humbling with the depth of passion, commitment, and awesome creativity of the respondents. The Pennfield fan base has taken it to a more meaningful level, with entries like USDF gold medalist’s Lauren Sprieser’s “Limitless”. If you want to win a ton of Pennfield feed and fame, be sure to enter at
pennfieldequine.com. EN karma for anyone who can work in “chinchilla” in their story. The best entries so far are posted on their
Facebook page.
That’s all for now, Eventing Nation. Enjoy your Saturday, I’ll catch you later!
