View From My Horse: Bald Eagle. Presented by World Equestrian Brands

Undoubtably one of the best parts of our collective obsession with horses is the nature and wildlife we get to see and experience while with our horses. From early morning hacks in beautiful countryside, to just being outdoors for the majority of the day, horses allow us to view nature in a way many people don’t get a chance to. This week’s ears photo illustrates just that. Thanks to Julie Skaife for submitting, and as always, thank you for reading. And remember, if you’d like to submit an ears photo of your latest fall adventure, please send it along with a caption describing it to: [email protected].

From Julie:
Yesterday I was out walking on the trails at Fairhill with my friend, Chantal Cray. Chantal had just finished XC schooling on her horse Foster and I had just completed interval training on my Connemara x TB mare, Sassy (those are her little ears!). We decided to meet after our respective work outs so we could walk out, cool off and catch up. Lucky for us we came across this bald eagle eating a dead deer and he actually let us get quite close. We stood and watched for a while, in awe at his size and strength, tearing at the meat with his beak. Unfortunately the phone photo just doesn’t do this magnificent bird justice. I love riding the trails at Fairhill, there is always lots of wildlife to see. It is great to feel so close to nature!
