A View From My Horse: Holiday Edition

This week’s ‘ears’ photo would most properly be described as an ‘antlers’ photo.  One of our readers, Kerry Sachs, sent us this photo of her Christmas Eve hack.  We have many more holiday ‘ears’ photos to come, at this rate the last ones will probably be posted sometime in July.  Thanks to Kerry for submitting, and as always, thank you for reading.  And remember to send photos with a descriptive paragraph to: [email protected].

From Kerry:

My name is Kerry Sachs, I just turned 20, and this is the view from atop my 15hh 6y.o. home-bred mare Good Luck Charm.  Charm and I had an amazing summer as working students for Buck down in PA.  We both learned how to work our butts off, learned how absolutely incredible riding people truly are once you scrub off all the dirt and dust, and were very successful competitors.  We went 7 for 7 in recognized competitions this summer, moving all the way up from beginner novice to training, and capped it all off with a win in the Training Amateur division at AECs! She’s an incredible pony and it’s pretty cool to say that I’ve known and raised her since the second she was born 🙂

We had to spend the semester apart since I’m going to school at Tufts out in Boston, but she’s been in training with my mom and we’re back together now.  This was our Christmas Eve hack after subjecting the poor pony to a dressage lesson in reindeer antlers!  We’re headed down to Buck’s again next week to compete at Prelim and work for another month!
Merry Christmas to all 🙂
