This is my OTTB retiree, Jude, this year on his 25th birthday, on a celebratory trail ride at the farm where we board in Hillsboro, Oregon. Jude was my first horse, and a once-in-a-lifetime kind of boy. He did a little bit of everything, and did it all well, but cross country was both of our first love. Now he gets to spend most of his time hanging out and looking cute – which he is also quite good at! – and occasionally giving rides to horse-crazy kids. And every so often when I just need a quiet relaxing ride, he is happy to oblige -and I usually spend the whole ride with a huge grin on my face, even after all these years. Thanks!
