Hickstead is easily one of the most amazing horses on the planet and in some sense Eric is one of the craziest riders as well to ride such a powerful jumper. In the below video, Eric and Hickstead win the La Baule CSIO 5* Grand Prix after finishing the jump off in 37.22 seconds. But, this is Eventing Nation, you say, who cares about those sissy show jumpers? Around minute mark 3:00, Eric cuts the turn so tight during the jump off that Hickstead quite literally jumps the standard of the jump. Pardon the ad at the beginning of the video and the annoying French announcers, it’s well worth enduring, I assure you:
