a) Your name:
Andrea Blair
b) The name of your business:
Paper Horse Photographer
c) The geographical area where you generally photograph:
Interior of BC, Canada
d) Years of experience as a photographer:
10 plus. I say 10 plus because I always carried around a camera. It became serious for me 6 years ago.
e) Why you decided to become a photographer:
I always have an unspoken need to document what happens around me. I gravitated towards photography as a kid when I used my first SLR camera. I couldn’t get enough of it, so I read alot and shot alot. Photography has always been a part of who I am, I work to capture the emotion to keep the story alive for my viewer. They say you should do what you loved as a child and my first loves have always been horses and photography. I’m now strictly an Equine/Equestrian photographer.
f) A short funny/interesting/ridiculous story about an experience you have had while photographing at an event:
The latest funny story was at the July Topline Stables Horse Trial when I snapped a very memorable (memorable in my eyes) photo of a small pony named Hoof Prints parked outside the infamous Topline “half-moon” wooden out house.
I was coming back to photograph the next stadium jumper when I was alerted and out of the corner of my eye I spied him. The reins popping out of the door and the pony on the other end.
g) One piece of advice, whether technical or general for a developing photographer:
Find something you love photographing and stick to it. Learn it, Breathe it. Love it.
