Favorite Eventing moment/story?: In Fall 2008, I crossed the finish line at Waredaca with tears in my eyes and a huge grin on my face. Dante and I had had some major water problems after falling into a lake in August, and Waredaca in October was our first event that fall where we didn’t have water issues, and I knew I wouldn’t have to sell him. To this day, I am not sure I have ever been so proud of him as in that moment.

If you had to pick one reason why you love Eventing, what would it be? I event because of that feeling on cross country where it’s almost as if you and your horse are thinking with one mind. There’s nothing like the feeling of galloping up to a big table and both of you knowing exactly when you’re going to take off, or tackling a hard combination and knowing how your partner was going to jump at every step of it. There’s nothing like the teamwork of cross country.

Overall Goals in the sport: To compete at Rolex one day, and maybe even Burghley or Badminton. I don’t expect to win, but even to complete those events would be an amazing thing.

Biggest Role model: I don’t really have a role model, although when I was younger I wanted to be Ashleigh Griffin from theThoroughbred series. I looked up to Willie Shoemaker for a long time, for being an amazing rider. In eventing, I look up to Mark Todd for his one stirrup ride around a four star, Bruce Davidson for his tenacity on Little Tricky in the rain, David O’Connor for his Olympic moment. I find my role models in bits and pieces.
