I’m back to give you live updates from the CCI3* cross country. The course rode well for the 2* riders this morning, so hopefully we will have a safe, exciting go here in the 3*. Marilyn Little and RF Demeter start us off at 1:10 p.m. Your overnight leaders are Hannah Sue Burnett and Harbour Pilot, Marilyn Little and RF Smoke on the Water, and Heather Gillette and Our Questionnaire.
1:18: Jan Byyny and Inmidair had a runout at 9b and 16. They were sitting in 5th overnight.
1:24: Will Faudree fell from DHI Colour Candy at the Springhouse Water Complex. Both are fine.
1:30: Marilyn Little checked in with Brian O’Connor and said she was very pleased with RF Demeter, who jumped clear and came home with time.
1:47: Madeline Blackman and Gordonstown retired at the Sunken Road.
1:49: Lainey Ashker and Anthony Patch are the first double clear. They came home 4 seconds inside the time.
1:53: Kelly List and Smarty Pants had a runout at the Sunken Road.
1:58: Danielle Dichting and Tops had a runout at the Farmyard Corners before she fell at the Sunken Road.
2: Lainey Ashker was looking for redemption after a less than stellar dressage test yesterday. She spoke to Brian O’Connor after her ride, saying Anthony Patch’s Thoroughbred breeding played a role in their double clear. She was pulling all the way home, she said.
2:02: Lizzie Snow and Coal Creek had a runout at the Farmyard Corners and then retired on course.
2:11: Will Faudree has withdrawn Pawlow after falling from DHI Colour Candy. Brian O’Connor alluded to the fact that Will is likely banged up after the fall. Will and Pawlow were sitting in 5th.
2:13: Doug Payne just reported that the footing is holding well on course.
2:16: Julie Wendell and Cavendish retired on course after a runout at the Farmyard Corners.
2:29: Hannah Sue Burnett and Harbour Pilot finished 18 seconds inside the time to hold their lead.
2:32: Leslie Law and Zenith ISF pulled up after fence 22 and retired on course.
2:34: Selena O’Hanlan and A First Romance were eliminated at the Farmyard Corners after multiple runouts.
2:46: Ironically, Hannah Sue and Harbour Pilot have never made time in an Advanced.
2:51: Jennie Brannigan and No Objection had a refusal at the Dansko Village.
2:58: Mara DePuy and Fun Maker had a runout at the Farmyard Corners and then pulled up on course.
3:06: Danica Moore and Utah B and Buck Davidson and Mar de Amor both had runouts. Danica later retired on course.
3:30: Robert Meyerhoff and Dunlavin’s Token had a runout at the Sunken Road. That wraps it up. Stay tuned for a more detailed report.
