The Red Hills CIC3* will start the 2013 Adequan USEA Gold & PRO Tour Series season next month. The Gold Cup format has changed this year to incorporate 11 qualifying events, giving horses and riders the chance to compete for $40,000 in the Adequan Advanced division at the AECs. [USEA]

Dr. Lydia Gray, SmartPak‘s medical director and staff veterinarian, gives advice on how to keep weight on older horses during winter. German scientists have discovered the gene that controls how tall a horse will grow. The gene, LCORL, limits the growth in size of horses, meaning a strong expression of LCORL will lead to smaller horses.
