Walking the CCI ** course

Rebecca and Roquefort jumped clean to clinch the CCI ** at Bromont, hurray, that will make the long journey home to North Carolina tomorrow (about 17 hours) much easier to bear!

I know I’ve talked about loving to watch all the different types of horses and styles of riding at events, and I saw all that and more today in the collecting ring – bits galore! and no bits at all!

Stephen Bradley warming up In the Fog; I caught up with him after his round for a brief chat.
Thanks to Stephen for talking to us, and best of luck with the Fairhill campaign.  Stephen was incredibly polite to everyone in the warm-up while I was up there watching, as was Will Coleman.  Downtown Harrison jumped a lovely round for Jon Holling but still had a rail down on a course that claimed many scalps in this division. The same was true for Karen O’Connor and her lovely mare Veronica. Hannah Burnett was cool, calm and collected to move up and take second – definitely a good day for David O’Connor’s girls! Also a great weekend for Bromont, what a display of talent, and even US talent; I do think Derek’s courses fostered better riding, encouraging forward going and riding out of a rhythm, I definitely saw a lot less hooking and pulling which was a relief.
I am gutted to miss the CCI3* show-jumping, but “have passport, must travel” sadly! I know EN John will keep the ship sailing and I’ll be on twitter constantly myself from here to the airport to find out what’s going on – Thank Goodness for Eventingnation.com! Thanks for reading and keeping us afloat. Go Rebecca and Go Eventing!
