There was a definite surge to walk the 4* cross country course today between the riders’ briefing, which began at 12:15pm, and the trot-up at 4:30pm. I saw members of the US and Canadian teams walking together at the Farmyard, and there was a veritable traffic jam at the Lake: The French team were walking ‘ensemble’!
Lucinda Green had joined Nick Turner and Jonathon Clissold on a course walk for “learner” stewards and course designers that included Janet Plant (Weston Park) and Jane Starkey.
However I struck gold when I accosted Harry Meade and Ben Hobday walking the course together a little further on, and they kindly stopped to chat for a couple of minutes.
