It’s not often that you hear of sixteen legs hauling an 18-wheeler, but so was the case Monday in Ottawa, Pennsylvania when an Amish man saw a trucker in need and ‘drove’ over to assist. The man hitched his four-horse draft team to the truck and remarkably moved them out of the snowdrifts and onto the roadway.
If nothing else, this story illustrates the vast and varied athleticism of horses. In an age where we train our horses for such specific skills-sets, its often forgotten all the other capacities they have and just how naturally powerful they really are. That’s not to say that you’ll see Woodburn or Mandiba pulling a cart anytime soon, but you get the point.
Go Horsepower.
