Rayef did not disappoint this morning and Laura Collett rode beautifully this morning at Badminton to take an early lead. Here she is answering a few questions immediately after her test.
Every rider so far has worn a top hat, Laura’s groom even wore Laura’s to hack Rayef back to the stables. However, there’s absolutely no risks being taken with the horses’ safety, this is Badminton after all – durr! As soon as the horses come out of the arena the boots are put back on, some even have over-reach boots to protect them on the walk back.
Ben Hobday watches Lucy Wiegesma who had a slightly disappointing test on Woodfalls Inigo Jones. The stands were surprisingly empty, but the shops are doing brisk business, that’s where all the crowds are, I had to fight my way through them to get back here, and I did spot Karen O’Connor and Max Corcoran coming out of The Badminton apparel shop with bags!
