A very rainy weekend at Pine Top is winding down. Thanks to the hard work of the event officials and volunteers, the footing held well across all three phases. Despite standing rain in the dressage arenas, riders reported that it wasn’t slippery. And when footing around certain cross-country jumps began to break down, volunteers moved the jumps several inches away to provide the best possible take-off points for horses and riders. Volunteers are critical to the sport, and we really can’t say enough about the caliber of people who helped at Pine Top this weekend. It’s far easier to volunteer on a sunny, warm day; true colors are revealed in the pouring, chilly rain. EN salutes the volunteers and event officials who kept Pine Top running smoothly this weekend. Go eventing.
