It’s that time of the year again … the days are growing shorter and the temperatures cooler. I’m already missing the warm sun filled days and late nights of summer. But I’ll enjoy the beauty of the changing seasons, because I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The shorter days mean that I awake in the dark each morning to feed my horses and muck stalls before work. Even though I’m an early riser, it can be a little challenging to start to feel like I’m rising in the middle of the night to start my day.
The dark and chilly temperatures make me want to pull up my covers and stay cozy in bed for a while longer. But I still get up, and dress in some warm and cozy outerwear. And the same concept holds when I’m dressing to go riding.
The brilliant colors of changing leaves make for gorgeous landscapes, which are perfect for hacking out this time of the year. Dropping temperatures and blustery winds mean that I’ve got to layer up in order to stay warm and comfortable while riding out.
Cue the return of one of my go to pieces of my cold weather riding wardrobe: the Sit Tight N Warm Fullseat breeches from Kerrits. Only this year, they’ve returned with a new and improved design. And although it’s still early in the season, I just can’t stop wearing them!
The Sit Tight N Warm Pocket Fullseats return with many of the same terrific features. In fact, you can read about my terrific experience riding in them last year here. Being warm, comfortable, functional and flattering are all things I associate with them.
The comfort and functionality all starts with the fabric. Durable Polartec Windpro fabric helps the Sit Tight N Warms to be both wind and water resistant. Which me to stay warm and dry, even when riding in less than picturesque weather.
And it continues when looking to the inside of the Sit Tight N Warms. While the tough outer side of the fabric stands up to the elements, the inner side is backed with a luxurious brushed fleece interior … even on the inside of the fullseat panels!
Let’s not overlook the Sit Tight part of the breeches either. The Gripstretch Suede of the fullseat panels is lightweight while conforming the to body to provide a custom like fit. The technology utilizes stretch under tension, providing a secure mid level grip.
But one of my favorite features of the Sit Tight N Warm Pocket Fullseats is newly added. And it’s all in the name. I’m talking about the handy new side pockets! This summer,I became hooked on the large side pockets of both the Ice Fil and Flex II Tights from Kerrits.
The updated design of the Sit Tight N Warm Pocket Fullseats feature two large side pockets. Which I absolutely adore, because they will hold my large smartphone in its Otterbox case. And I still have another pocket to spare, which can hold a lip gloss, or my gloves!
When I went to pull on the Sit Tight N Warm Pocket Fullseats for the first time, I simply did not want to take them off. The combination of the stretchy Polartec Windpro fabric and the brushed fleece interior made me feel like I was wrapped in coziness.
The Sit Tight N Warms stretch nicely to provide me with a comfortable and attractive fit. The elastic on the inner waistband features attractive Kerrits branding that is hidden to the eye, and it functions beautifully to give me a close, no gap fit around the waistline.
A feature that might be overlooked is the lower leg panel that helps provide a close fit that still has extra stretch. When zipping up my tall boots over the Sit Tight N Warms, I noticed that the lower leg panel helps minimize bulk. Which means my boots zip up smoothly!
When riding in the Sit Tight N Warm Pocket Fullseats, I love that I still feel all comfy and cozy. I never stop being amazed at how well the Windpro fabric does at blocking the wind. Because I feel still comfortable and sheltered from the elements and can enjoy my ride.
The Sit Tight N Warm Pocket Fullseat tights are available from Kerrits. They are available in Graphite, Night Shadow, Bison and Black (pictured), in sizes XS to 2XL. They retail for $129, so the new style remains at the same terrific price point! You can find them here.
The Sit Tight N Warm Pocket breeches are also available in a Kneepatch version. They come in the same color and size options, and they have a retail price of $119. You can check them out here.
