Erin Sylvester waiting to go in

Clear rounds were scarce this morning, and the time was fairly tight even after it was re-adjusted. Erin Sylvester, second to go and first of the Americans had four rails and seven time.

Megan Jones and the scopey and very tidy Kirby Park Allofasudden posted the first clear with a stunning round

Ben Hobday has someone smiling down on him this weekend, he lived dangerously through through the treble, rattled plenty but somehow Gun A B Good left all the rails up for the second clear of the day.

Kristi Nunnink jumped a lovely round on R-Star and was incredibly unlucky to have the last fence down, in fact I must be in complete denial because I l spoke to Kristi aftwerards and kept referring to her clear round! Apologies!

Kristi told me that Bruce Davidson helped her warm up this morning, as he has done all week, and that she’ll now spend a week in England and Ireland horse-shopping with Tiana Coudray, while R-Star, aka Rosie has a break at Nick Gauntlett’s base.

Peter Hannigan rode a cracking round on the Cruising gelding First Mate, and was just had the first part of the orange double down near the end of the course.

Lucy Jackson jumped one of the most stylish rounds on Animator but the orange double was her nemesis and she had both parts down, as well as four time penalties.

Jeanette Brakewell and Chill Out Bob

Alice Dunsdon and Fernhill Present

Lucy Wiegersma also had a beautiful round with just one rail down on Granntevka Prince

Harry Meade and Wild Lone who still looked full of beans

Louisa Milne Home and King Eider

Elizabeth Power and September Bliss

Louise Lyons and Watership Down

Kate, Graham and Belmont enjoy Sunday at Burghley!

Sara Burdess was eliminated for two stops at the third fence, and Ruth Edge will probably want to forget about her expensive round on Rogersdale, incurring 36 jumping penalties.  The second session begins at 2:20 this afternoon GB time, with Anna Warnecke and Twinkle Bee and then continues in reverse order. Allison Springer is due to jump at 3:02pm, and our girl Sinead is last to go at 3:17. Thanks for visiting Eventing Nation, and go show-jumping today at the Land Rover Burghley Three Day Event.
