Rolex Entry Update: 19 entered so far

Entries are slowly trickling in for the Rolex Kentucky CCI4*. With the EHV outbreak at Badminton that might threaten many riders’ spring schedules, it’s possible we’ll see quite a few riders entering Rolex as a back-up plan. Colleen Rutledge posted on her Facebook page yesterday that she has already sent in a Rolex entry just in case. While she has every intention of making the trip across the pond with Shiraz — especially after record rainfall hijacked her plans to compete at Badminton last year — she’s wise to think ahead. Between unpredictable weather, disease outbreaks and the unpredictable nature of horses in general, who knows what could happen between now and Rolex week.

Nineteen entries have been posted on the Rolex website thus far. Most notably, William Fox-Pitt has entered an impressive four horses. While Parklane Hawk, the mount he won with last year, won’t be making the trip to the States, he is bringing Cool Mountain, the horse he won with in 2010. While William has certainly had great success at Rolex in the last few years, we have quite a few very promising American and Canadian pairs entered already. And, of course, there are many notable names who have yet to file their entries. We’ll check back in with an updated entry list after entries close on Tuesday, March 26.
