The entry deadline for Rolex has officially passed, leaving us with 42 fantastic horse-and-rider combinations who will tackle North America’s premier event. With 2013 being a non-championship or Olympic year, entries were expected to be a little down. Some key pairs also won’t be competing this year due to injuries, while other leading North American riders are saving their horse’s legs for overseas events later this year. Still, we have an impressive lineup that will arrive at Kentucky in just three short weeks. Which horse and rider are you rooting for?
The third installments of the Rolex Featured Rider blogs have also been posted. Sinead Halpin has not posted a third installment, as she reported in Part 2 that Manoir De Carneville will not run at Rolex due to a clinic evaluation that raised concerns with Team USA vets. Stephen Blauner, a member of the Neville Bardos Syndicate, reports in his third blog that Neville Bardos will not compete at Rolex due to a mild suspensory strain, as Samantha Clark initially reported at Southern Pines. However, Stephen indicated that Trading Aces will compete, which will be the horse’s first four-star event. We’ll continue to keep you updated with all the developments regarding the entry list for Rolex.

5 p.m. update: Nine additional entries came in after we initially made this post, bringing the total to 51. Boyd Martin and Trading Aces are now entered. Peter Barry and Kilrodan Abbott are also entered, as are Jessica Phoenix and Exponential. It’s also great to see Will Coleman and Twizzel, who will retire following Rolex, officially on the list. Caitlin Silliman and Catch A Star are also on the list. We aren’t seeing her entered with Remington due to FEI qualification snafus, as Samantha Clark explained in this post from Southern Pines. Congrats and best of luck to the nine new entries!
