Roquefort Gives Canada the Lunchtime 2* Lead

Rebecca Howard was the last to go before the lunch break in the CCI2* and a crowd of her fans gathered to watch a ride we all knew had a great chance to take the lead.  She had a really uncharacteristic error early in her test that made David shake his head with a frustrated smile, but the rest of the test was good enough to take the lead with a 47.4 so David can’t be all that mad.

Bromont CCI2* Lunchtime Scores

1. Rebecca Howard and Roquefort  47.4
2. Phillip Dutton and Ben  50.3
3. Michael Pollard and Schoensgreen Hanni  50.7
4. Stephen Bradley and In The Fog  51.9
5. Phillip Dutton and Young Man  53.3
6. Jon Holling and King’s Ransom  55.3

[Full Scores]

–Phillip Dutton had two great rides this morning, with Young Man sitting in fifth and Ben in second half way through the division.  Ben in particular showed off some really lovely gaits today.

–Schoensgreen Hanni is owned by Michael Pollard’s wife Nathalie, but Michael has the ride to potentially campaign for the Pan American Games.  The beautiful gray mare is one of my favorite horses anywhere.

–Jon Holling’s King’s Ransom is a bit unconfirmed but he showed this morning that he is one of the best movers here at Bromont.  I can’t wait to see this horse in a year, but they are in good position today with a 55.3.

–Stephen Bradley’s lovely In The Fog picked up right where they left off at Jersey with a strong dressage test.

The sun is shining now and the temperature is rising here in Quebec.  The afternoon riders hope the scores will do the opposite.  Thanks for joining us throughout the day for all things Bromont.  Stay classy Eventing Nation.
