I haven’t found the word yet to describe the agony of being on the west coast during WEGs. It’s in the same family as the feeling you get when you missed the latest episode of your favorite TV show and everyone’s talking about it. You don’t want to be behind and spoilers are unavoidable, so you get up to speed on the storyline and swear you’ll find time in your ridiculous schedule to actually watch it. Blend in a dash of the same feeling you get when you head for the hotel early because you leave the start box at 7:45am the following day only to find out that something utterly insane happened after you left for the night, like magical elves jumped out of someone’s tack trunk with a keg and high fives for everyone. For those of you that have been regularly setting the alarm early, I salute you. I’ll be up and out the door this morning shortly after Hawley leaves the start-box, coffee in hand.
