As if the adrenaline of CCI5* cross country day weren’t enough, the action continues today with the Real Rider Cup, making its debut at the MARS Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill presented by Brown Advisory. Founded by Anita Motion in 2017, this crowd-favorite charity competition has already raised over $600,000 for Thoroughbred aftercare—and now it’s bringing its signature mix of speed, smiles, and silks to Arena C.
Captained by riders including Monica Spencer, Buck Davidson, and Alex Conrad, teams of equestrians from across the racing and sport horse worlds will swap breeches for jockey silks and pilot off-track Thoroughbreds over a show jumping course, all in the name of giving back. Each rider has pledged to raise at least $1,000 for aftercare organizations, with proceeds benefiting the Retired Racehorse Project, New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program, and Beyond the Wire.
