Here’s a story you don’t hear every day!
After seven months lost in the Wind River Mountains in Wyoming, a special horse named Mouse is home safe and sound. It’s a fairly insane story that’s summarized quite well over on our sister site, Horse Nation, but the short version is: after getting loose and high-tailing it into the mountains last July, Mouse could not be found. Soon enough, winter weather prevented any further searching, and, well, there are only so many endings to a story like this — especially in such remote back country.
On January 18, a passing snowmobiler saw the lone horse, who was in poor shape and had no way of being led to safety due to massive snow drifts. So, thanks to the efforts of many, transportation was devised in true improv fashion, and Mouse was only happy to oblige.
