Currently lying 6th after dressage, I thought Neville Bardos might appreciate these pictures of his buddies before he goes cross country on the CIC 3* tomorrow. The help from all quarters has been amazing at Red Hills; the courses and arenas look beautiful, the organisation, the tradestands, everything is absolutely first class, and I’m pleased to say I did even strip off a few layers this afternoon, it IS warming up, although that may have been because Leslie (Law) and Diana (Burnett) – the “immortals” as Dorothy Crowell called them! walked SO fast around the cross country.
Here’s hoping to safe rounds for everyone tomorrow. The courses look stunning, although on second walking they’re beginning to look more difficult, and I’m almost relieved I’m not riding (unless it was Breakthrough!) and feeling rather old and rusty, must be the lack of sleep! Yes, that’s what it is! I’m downloading more pictures as I write this and hope to get them up, if not tonight, then early tomorrow morning. ESJ asked me if I’m earning Starbucks miles – what a marvelous idea!
PS. I almost forgot until I found these photos; it was ESJ who spotted Boyd’s preferred method of walking the course. This is what you can expect if you apply for a working pupil position.
