Good Morning Eventing Nation! John’s tolerance for central Florida is about two days maximum, and with the conclusion of the Advanced division at Rocking Horse yesterday, he has ‘peaced out’ this morning and resumed life in the traveling corporate headquarters. So it’s just me and you this morning, Eventing Nation.

Anyway, a couple quick notes and then onto links:
Morning Update: The Aiken training session schedules are posed on the USEF Facebook page

Marilyn Little-Meredith and Udonna won the Preliminary Rider-A section at Rocking Horse. As we’ve been writing about the past couple weeks, Udonna and Marilyn are taking on the event world from a background of show jumping, Grand Prix show jumping to be exact, with the goal of 2011 to qualify and compete at the Fair Hill later this autumn.

–Jan Byyny leads the Open Prelim A by less than a rail over Phillip going into the show jumping.

— As John posted a few weeks ago, Forrest Allen, top veterinarian Kent Allen’s son, was severely injured in a snowboarding accident. The good news of the morning is that according to his blog, Forrest is making great steps to recovery.

I got word from a friend of mine up in Aiken yesterday that smoke from the fires in the Shenandoah National Park can be seen on the horizon, several hundred miles away. The fire is not yet completely contained, but according to this report, it will most likely be soon.

That’s all for now, Eventing Nation. See you soon.
