Many congrats to Katie Geiger, who’s just been named as a Full Moon Farm Leg Up Scholarship recipient hosted by Strides for Equality Equestrians. This Leg Up scholarship fully funds Katie’s participation in a coach-to-show program at Full Moon Farm in Carroll County, MD, this August. This experience includes several lessons, competition coaching at Waredaca Starter horse trials and/or FFIJE Summer Show, boarding/horse use and housing for the duration of the scholarship, and reimbursement for trailering. Katie has goals of improving her and her horse’s confidence, competing, and earning her Bronze medal in dressage. She has “spent many years volunteering at horse shows” and feels that it “has been very encouraging to see an increase in riders of color over the years,” she told Strides for Equality Equestrians.
