A powerful storm knocked down enough trees to block the competitor gate at Flora Lea Farm in New Jersey.

Mother Nature had other plans for Flora Lea Farm’s event that was to take place this weekend. After a powerful storm came through Medford, NJ, enough trees were knocked down and power was cut that the event was forced to abandon competition for the weekend.

“The YEH and derby scheduled for [Sunday] will not be able to run,” Flora Lea posted on Facebook. “The road is still closed. PSE&G has been working hard all day with 7 trucks and many crew members. Unfortunately there are still wires laying across the road as well as huge splintery telephone pole chunks blocking the way. We will ask USEA to let us run another recognized show the weekend of July 4th along with YEH.”

Competitors are advised to stay in the loop via the Flora Lea Farm Facebook page as the organizing team works to secure a makeup date for this event.
