We’re bidding a fond farewell to Tom Bombadill Too, the longtime Olympic partner of Brazil’s Ruy Fonseca, who passed away this past week at the age of 26. Together, Ruy and Tom Bombadill Too represented Brazil at two Olympics (London – 2012 and Rio – 2016) and in total competed in six championships, including World Championships and Pan American Games. They earned team silver and individual bronze at the 2015 Pan American Games and also competed through the CCI5* level.
“He was the most kind and easy happy horse ever that came in my life and changed my life giving me opportunities, chances and plenty of learning experiences,” Ruy wrote on social media. “Tommy I will miss you forever my friend and you touched many people and hearts, thank you to everyone that was involved with him at some stage of his life he really appreciated that and he told me last Sunday.”
