Emily Dunn, a good friend of Eventing Nation and super groom for Irish eventer Esib Power, spent much of the winter based at Mark Todd’s yard, Badgerstown in Wiltshire, England. While Emily learned an incredible amount about the sport under the tutelage of one of the greatest event riders of our time, perhaps the most valuable lesson she took away from the experience is that Toddy keeps his lorry stocked with champagne at all times. “I’ve decided that when you are celebrating your achievements so frequently that your lorry’s champagne supply has to be kept full, that is probably the moment you know you’ve made it as an event rider.” Well said, Emily.
