The end of an era

This past Sunday, Brett Favre’s incredible record 321 consecutive NFL game starting streak ended when he was sidelined due to injury.  Favre’s streak started when I was in 1st grade, and nothing, not even investigations into whether he phone-mailed pictures of his ‘jet’ to a New York Jets employee, could keep him off the field.

I realized earlier today that I have a streak of my own–418 straight days with at least one post on Eventing Nation.  That streak will likely end this week.  I have put Coren in charge on Wednesday and Annie in charge of Thursday on EN.  I’ll be watching over things and of course I will chime in with any major breaking news, but Annie and Coren will be bringing you all the eventing news and ridiculousness until Friday.  They both sounded a bit nervous when I talked to them about it, so please let them know you are appreciating their hard work with lots of great comments.

We have the coolest team of writers here at EN and it’s a big step forward for the site to have such a fun team working together.  As we have so many members of the EN team, always be sure to glance at the author of each post, as everyone has their own style and perspective.  For example, you can always tell my posts because they are filled with typos and irrelevant sports references.

Another thing to look forward to this week is that Samantha will have two incredible video reports from Puhinui in New Zealand over the next couple of days in cooperation with Russell Hall and the Clifton Eventers.  Go eventing.
